Grasshoppers - just like in the movies!

A picture can’t really do justice to the actual experience but it’s the best I can give you. A couple weeks ago we had hundreds of grasshoppers flying around after dusk and through the night for a couple nights.

It was just like out of a book or movie about the plague of locusts brought on Egypt in the bible. These grasshoppers likely weren’t as big but they were everywhere! They were attracted to the lights inside the house so a number of them got into the house and were jumping and flying around. Our mosquito nets now also served as grasshopper nets as well! Just another bug adventure in Africa…

Our cat enjoyed trying to catch them and add to her supper!
